Dirk De Keyzer is an established name in contemporary sculpture. His bronze sculptures are instantly recognisable: playful figures filled with wonder, humour and joie de vivre, inviting the viewer to look at life with a smile.

From the very beginning of his career, De Keyzer consciously chose his own path. Independent of artistic movements and trends, he developed a unique artistic universe inhabited by his characteristic figures. Their elegant poses, subtle humour and human warmth make his work accessible to a wide audience and have allowed it to resonate with collectors across generations.

At the heart of his oeuvre stands the ‘universal human’. His figures transcend culture, origin and age, speaking a language that is understood everywhere. They tell stories of hope, wonder, freedom and the lightness of existence. Humour plays an important role in this. Not to mock, but to connect people and offer a different perspective on the world.

De Keyzer works primarily in bronze, a material for which he developed a deep fascination early on. The combination of craftsmanship, technical mastery and an inexhaustible imagination forms the foundation of his artistic practice. Each sculpture is first fully conceived in his mind before being brought to life through clay, wax and bronze.

His work has been exhibited in numerous cities around the world, including Paris, London, Stockholm, Geneva, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Since 2010, Dirk De Keyzer has been represented in Belgium by Horus Gallery.
