About the artist
Sonia Queija, born in 1974 in France, graduated from the Beaux-Arts in 2000. She also trained in sculpture in the studio of Bolivian artist M. Terrazas, a pupil of Ossip Zadkine in Paris. Her classical education laid a strong foundation for her artistic development.
As a sculptor, Sonia Queija develops her own collection, consisting of series of contemplative figures that together form large-scale installations. Well-known series include Travellers, Couples, Workers and Pauses. In her sensitive work, she captures postures and gestures - faces and hands that reflect thoughts and emotions. Her sculptures invite stillness and reflection, showing a deep connection to the human experience.
