How can we cope with our vulnerabilities and heal the wounds that we have received throughout our existence? Philipp addresses these questions with his newest painting, Rituals of Life: “In our search for the meaning of life, we often connect with a higher power through rituals, be it God or the universe. It helps us find strength and purifies us from the burdens of the soul.”

Traces of blood hint at this ritual act, which asks for support and healing.
Both, it seems, are granted: as if by chance, there is a blood-red mark on her forehead that reminds us of a Hindu bindi, like an energetic third eye that marks the seat of secret knowledge. It stands for a perception that goes beyond reality and symbolizes the gateway to inner spaces and worlds.
